Double Barrel #12

Title: Double Barrel
Issue #12
Release: November 2013
Writers: Kevin and Zander Cannon
Artists: Kevin and Zander Cannon
via Top Shelf
With this, the twelfth issue, season one of Double Barrel finally comes to a close.  Both Zander's Heck and Kevin's Crater XV wrapped up nicely.  Both stories are available in graphic novel form for anyone keen to read from the beginning.

A second season is promised, eventually.  Both Cannons are full-time freelancers in the comics biz so their other projects are going to keep them busy for a while.  Zander's been doing a lot of DC work recently, including a Justice League book with Geoff Johns.  According to Zander, the second season of DB will be different - more episodic stories released maybe three times a year rather than monthly.  I'm looking forward to following the work of both creators in the meantime.

  1. If he's working with Johns then I already like they're work.

    1. Zander's worked with some big names over the years. He was the layout artist on Alan Moore's Top Ten. He's also done some work on Fables with Bill Willingham.

  2. My husband was once a huge collector of comic books/graphic novels. He owned the 1st edition of Thor, before my low-brow brothers destroyed it.

    1. He must have been heart-broken!

I don't quite feel I've achieved "collector" status yet. I'm still at the "avid reader" stage, though I'm gradually sorting out my preferences within the medium.

  3. Ooh...I had to hit the tag and go back a bit to find out what exactly these were about. I'll look at them some more. You're making my list longer and longer! :)

    1. I hope you will check these out. I'm biased because I went to college with Zander (Kevin went to the same college, a few years later.). But I wouldn't bother promoting their work if I didn't think it was good.

Back issues are only $0.99. It is the holidays. Graphic novels make great gifts!
