MOCK!
and The Armchair Squid are proud to present Mock Squid Soup: A Film
Society. Each month, on the second Friday, we shall host a bloghop
devoted to a particular movie. We invite others to watch the same film
and post their own reviews.
Our society shall convene next on February 13th with
Napoleon Dynamite.
Our dear friend
Cherdo
is co-hosting with us in February. If you, dear cinephile, would be
interested in suggesting a film and co-hosting Mock Squid Soup one
month, please let us know.
We
hope that you, too, will watch the movie and join in our
discussion. Please sign on to the list below:
Have you ever seen, The Great Buck Howard?
ReplyDeleteI haven't. Is it good? Are you suggesting it as a discussion you'd be interested in co-hosting?
DeleteYou know, I haven't seen this either? And as far as I can tell, tonally it's pretty similar to Better Off Dead. A pattern begins to emerge...
ReplyDeleteSimilar story in that it involves the unlikely triumph of a misfit teenager but the tone is quite different, indeed. Napoleon Dynamite is truly a unique movie and that's not a word I use lightly. More on that in February...
DeleteI like my movies dumb and quotable.
ReplyDeleteNapoleon Dynamite is certainly quotable. Dumb? I'd say it's a lot better than that.
