Squid Mixes: White Lady
The White Lady combines gin, Cointreau and lemon juice. I got my recipe from David Lebovitz. It tastes kind of like Crystal Lite with gin. Except better.
Crystal lite and gin, I'm glad it's better than that, for that's not a description to sell a drink! Now I will have to go google "Cointreau" to learn a new word... oh, it's an orange liqueur.
We're basically finished with our whiskey battles for now (blog update soon). We're going to move on to vermouths. After that, it might be time for a closer look at gin.
Me, too! I'm not sure this one is so satisfying if the lemon is what you're after. I find it's stronger if it doesn't have to compete with another citrus flavor, orange in this case.

It's a particular nice orange liqueur. Really, Cointreau and triple sec are the same thing, much the way brandy and Cognac are the same thing.
DeleteI'm not sure if I've ever had a gin drink...?
ReplyDeleteIf you really want to taste the gin, I'd try a martini. For a gin beginner, though, a gin and tonic is probably a better bet.
DeleteYou said the magic word Gin. Amazing !
