A Window Above: All Out of Love

Song: "All Out of Love"
Writers: Clive Davis and Graham Russell
Original Release: February 1980
Band: Air Supply

This is one of my favorite guilty pleasure songs.  I first fell in love with it while driving through the Mt. Fuji region in the summer of '96.  I'm pretty sure my companion and driver got tired of me playing the Air Supply tape over and over again but that's the risk you run when you let me pick the music.  Then again, it was his tape so maybe he didn't mind so much.  Now, if this song comes on the radio at the end of a drive, I won't turn off the car until it's finished.

  1. Air Supply was the first band I really loved when I got into music as a teenager (not until I was 15, kinda late, I know). My favorite, probably, has always been "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All," but this is also a great song. Man, I haven't listened to any Air Supply in ages.

    1. Their heyday was just too early for me to have paid them much attention the first time around. I'm not sure how much affection I have for them beyond this song but I truly love it.

    1. Above a certain age, yes, though my wife would inevitably roll her eyes. Air Supply is coming around for the next generation, too. I've had students who know their music through their parents' music collections. Of course, more and more each year, my students' parents are younger than I am...

  3. Hey! You have no link up for the July book thing.
Is that happening? Or did I miss something?

    1. It's time to retire the Coffeehouse, I think. Numbers have dwindled and I've got too many other things going on to put much energy into plugging it. So, time to move on. I'm enjoying the Squid's current directions anyway.

Hoped to slip away quietly without anyone noticing... But you caught me.

    2. TAS: Ah, well, catching things is what I do, I guess.
But I understand the need to move on to other things.
