My friends and I are embarking on an exploration of
Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Every Tuesday, we will be featuring an episode from the series which
began in 2008 (as opposed to the one that started in 2003). All are welcome to join us for all or parts of the fun.
Episode: "Destroy
Malevolence"
Series:
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Season 1, Episode 4
Original Air Date: October 17, 2008
His ship of terror left damaged in last week's story, General Grievous makes a desperate move: capturing a Republic vessel, intending to hold its occupants hostage. Unfortunately for all involved, his intended prisoners are Padmé and C-3PO. Obviously, Anakin and Obi-Wan will have to rescue them. The adventure provides ample opportunity for Jedi swashbuckling and acrobatics.
The episode's title doesn't leave much suspense. Even so, the means of destruction are quite clever. While both
Andrew and
Maurice claimed last week's show as one of their favorites, I think I liked this one more. Padme's entrance brings us back to the secret life which we all know will ultimately lead to Anakin's undoing. The Republic's victory is satisfying but, alas, temporary.

Obi-Wan Kenobi, moral guide to two generations of Skywalkers, is performed by James Arnold Taylor. Taylor was born July 25, 1969 in Santa Barbara, California. His voice credits are extensive. Among many film roles, he was Muzu in
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. In television, he has performed in
Scooby Doo, as well as various DC and Marvel cartoon series. Video game work is clearly a major part of a voice actor's resume these days. Taylor has contributed to numerous major franchises including
Final Fantasy,
Star Wars and
Spider-Man.
Taylor has been married to his wife Allison since 1991. They have one daughter, Lydia. Taylor is a published author, penning

Next week: "Rookies."
You know, he kind of looks like what I thought Shaggy would look like if he grew up and shaved occasionally.
ReplyDeleteHe does look like Shaggy! While he's played a wide range of roles on Scooby-Doo, he has never played that one.
DeleteSo you're going through the episodes in order? I think that's such a cool idea.
ReplyDeleteI need to do that with some of my fave TV shows, I think!
That's the plan. So far, these are all episodes I've seen before but I'll be in uncharted territory soon. For Andrew, they're all reruns.
DeleteParaphrasing: "The things you'll do to get me alone."
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure that episode 1.3 will remain as high on my list after the re-watch. I just finished 1.6, and it's much higher on the list, now. But 1.3 is still above 1.4.
Oh, you're watching ahead! Now that school's out, I may be able to get a little ahead of the game.
DeleteWell, I'm just trying to stay ahead of the posts. I don't want to get caught on Monday night not having done it, yet. Having them done two weeks ahead gives me some cushion when things get busy.
DeleteVery sensible.
DeleteMy review of the movie will be going up Friday, July 3.
DeleteAwesome! Looking forward to it. I have only seen the movie once. I actually prefer the series.
DeleteOh those swashbucklers of yesteryear. Was the young Anakin able to get out of jail after his DUI??:)
ReplyDeleteJake Lloyd... seems to be quite the troubled young man.
DeleteGood to see the young talent coming up!
ReplyDeleteVoice acting is a great way to make a living if you can get steady work. You don't even have to comb your hair.
