Mock Squid Soup: September Blog List

MOCK! and The Armchair Squid are proud to present Mock Squid Soup: A Film Society.  Each month, on the second Friday, we shall host a bloghop devoted to a particular movie.  We invite others to watch the same film and post their own reviews.

Our society shall convene next on September 12th with Burn After Reading, first released to theaters, not coincidentally, on September 12, 2008.  We hope that you, too, will watch the movie and join in our discussion.  Please sign on to the list below:

  1. Sounds like fun! I'm not much of a movie watcher, but it'll be interesting to read other people's thoughts on it!

  2. I've never heard of this movie. I'll go look it up.

  3. This is a fun idea! I have never seen the movie- so I will see if I can watch it by the deadline (I don't have Netflix- but someone I know might have it).

    1. I hope you can find it. This one should prompt interest discussion, I think.

  4. This sounds like a great hop, but I am not always going to be able to get hold of a specified movie. I would be happy to sign up and post when I am familiar with a movie, though.

The thing is I tend to watch movies on DVD, and to do that I tend to buy them. I don't yet have the ability to download movies or pay to stream them. I hope to someday get with the 21st century in that regard ... when my budget allows it. ;)

    1. Yes, I realize the specific movie is a limitation. I'm not sure how to work around it, either. I've thought of doing the same format as the Coffeehouse, just letting everyone pick their best from the month. But everyone discussing the same work has advantages, too. Not everyone accesses movies in the same way, either. Some have sworn off DVDs completely and are only streaming.

      I'm open to ideas.

    2. I borrowed a copy from my library. That's my usual go-to for books/movies. If I like them enough I'll go buy my own copy.

    3. I think Mock got his copy from the library, too.
