A gin fix is simple enough: gin, lemon juice, sugar, water, lemon slice to garnish. I got my recipe from
Imbibe! by David Wondrich with an assist from
The New York Bartender's Guide on the garnish. According to Wondrich, the first historical record is a drink list from a Toronto saloon, dated 1856. It's a refreshing drink, tasting exactly like what it is: gin and lemon.
I love gin, can not drink it but I love it.

ReplyDeleteMe, too! Which is your favorite?
DeleteI know I'm a snob, but I like my drinks to have color in them (like scotch, bourbon, or aged rum) :)

Me, too. It's good to have a few gin drinks in the arsenal, tough.
DeleteI like lemon drinks so yes, this one is for me too.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a favorite lemon drink?
DeleteI had a smoked gin with elderflower on Sunday, I wish I could magic you a glass! It's made with smoked tea leaves, incredible stuff!
ReplyDeleteSounds fantastic!
