A bullfrog combines vodka, triple sec and limeade with a lime garnish. I got my recipe from The New York Bartender's Guide. Poke around the web and you'll see more bludgeoning cocktails of the same name, such as this one.
The drink was nice and a good use of the limeade I made for last week's post. The liquor doesn't add much flavor and what it does bring is rather... alcoholy. It might have been fine with just the vodka, or maybe even just the triple sec.
I'm not sold on vodka.
ReplyDeleteAnd I haven't had triple sec.
Triple sec is an orange liqueur, probably getting the most use as an ingredient in margaritas.
DeleteI'm with you on the vodka. I'm sure the good stuff is nice. But in mixed drinks, it's boring.
I would try this as I love vodka. The look of the drink reminded me of a drink i loved which was Gin with Wink. Wink was a sparkly beverage which was lime tasting..it was good.
ReplyDeleteGin might actually be a more interesting choice here - worth an experiment sometime, perhaps.
DeleteIt looks nice even without you pretty little model.
ReplyDeleteGranddaughter has a kitten now. Her uncle found a box of kittens, he found homes for all of them. They look so very tiny I hope they were old enough but she is doing just great so far.
parsnip
Glad to hear the kittens found homes.
DeleteIt looks like a refreshing summer drink. I’m not really sure about triple sec, don’t know I ever had it.

If you've ever had a margarita, you have. My favorite use is in the sidecar.
DeleteLove reading about your mixtures. When I see a slice of lime, I know it will be awesome.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I'll definitely know what to serve if we ever have you over, Susan.
