A Prado combines silver tequila, lime juice, maraschino liqueur, grenadine and egg white with a lime slice to garnish. I got my recipe from
The New York Bartender's Guide.
Prado means
grassy meadow or
field in Spanish.
The result is very nice. The grenadine brings the pink but the drink doesn't taste pink. With the tequila and lime flavors dominating, the Prado is essentially a pink, foamy margarita.
Looks interesting. Do you cook the egg whites?
ReplyDeleteNo, they're raw. I did take the use by date very seriously in this case.
DeleteThat sounds like a fun drink. Thanks for sharing such an excellent recipe, and you have yourself a most excellent rest of the day buddy!
DeleteThanks, Maurice! It's always great to hear from you.
DeleteThis looks delicious. I don't recall ever having a drink with egg white in it! :)
ReplyDeleteThey're popular in the craft cocktail world these days. If you're ever at a restaurant and see people with mixed drinks sporting heads of foam, that's from egg whites.
