Gerber was another St. Louis Brown. He passed away in 1951, before the team moved to Baltimore. Primarily known for his fielding, Gerber had his best year at the plate in 1923: .281 batting average, 85 runs and 62 RBI. He made the All-Star team that year, as well. He later served as a minor league umpire.
